Beauty from ashes
Fire Lily was set up in response to my own walk with cancer as a Christian. The heart behind it is to encourage other young women journeying with cancer by pointing to how God brings beauty from the ashes and gives an unshakable hope and peace amidst the storm.
Rising from the ashes after fire, the fire lily creates vibrant red and pink displays across the Cape Fold Mountains of South Africa. The fire lily (Cyrtanthus ventricosus) is completely dependent on fire to flower and produce seeds. Nine days after fire, its flowers emerge- a visual representation of beauty from ashes.
In the same way, God can bring beauty from the ashes in our lives. When it seems like things are falling apart and the way ahead is unclear, He lifts our eyes to the One who loves us, cares for us and goes before us.
“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
Isaiah 43:19
Beauty from ashes.
